Happy New Year!!  It's NYE still here in California but in many parts of the world it's already 2020.

 

How was your Holiday season?  As for us, this year's Christmas was the best Christmas ever and my dad was a big part of it.

 

I didn't grow up celebrating Christmas but it's a huge Holiday for Joe as an Italian American.  And I just love the holiday vibe.  It's just a good excuse to kick back and do less.

 

The joyous season will end tonight though!

 

Not everyone of us is celebrating the season in joy sadly.  A lot of us are going through tons of loneliness this or even every Holiday season.  I have been there myself after the breakdown my marriage.  I dreaded the season like a rash.  I avoided it.  I stayed away from Christmas carols.

 

If you are one of those people, my heart goes to you.

 

I know how hard it is.  Especially if you just experienced a heart break or a loss.

 

But like everything else, this one, too, shall pass.  The nature of life is cyclical.  Good times come and go, and so do bad times.

 

Life is repetitive.  It's a ground hog day, in a good, bad or neutral way or all of them.

 

Like organizing your closet. I take this example cause it's never my priority. It's not something that comes natural with me. I have to have my mind set on it to carry this task out. 

 

Every once in a while I clean up my closet: hang and fold my clothes only to find a few days/weeks later the same procedure needs to be repeated.

 

Then I would think: mmmm....it's how exciting life is.  Not really. :)

 

To the common mind life needs to be so much more than this.  But life is really not.  But there is beauty in that realization.  There is freedom, that maybe we need to just stop projecting on how life should be.

 

Recently, I got hooked on The Crown on Netflix.  I don't really watch shows generally and it took me a whole month to finish 2 episodes (didn't think I would continue the subscription after the free month) but by the 4th episode I was hooked.

 

I was hooked because I'd like to compare my perceptions and projections of what a life so foreign to me might look/feel like with the reality of it.  Of course as "real" as a TV show could portray.

 

I was entering the spirit of each of the historical characters and was absorbing the kind of existence they might live from their own POVs/subjective experiences as "normal" human beings born into a situation that was beyond their control.

 

To the Royals life as they know it is about duty.  About representing a religious organization (yes it really is) with tens of millions of followers with them at the helm.  They're tribal leaders with a history back to over 1000 years and one of the most successful ones on earth.

 

Succession is the name of the game to them and it's as REAL as the sun and the moon.  It's as real as SURVIVAL.

 

The public perception is a life filled with luxuries and privileges.  The reality of it is it's life in a gilded cage with very little personal freedom.  It's about following rules, protocols and traditions and putting the Crown above and over anything else because the Crown is the Nation.  It's the People, and thus it's the representation of Godhead Itself.  It's a DIVINE calling and destiny for them, literally. 

 

They're powerful, yet also powerless.  They have no control of how/who they are.

 

Even to the Royals life is repetitive as well.  They know the routine, what to do, not do to, what to say, not to say, what they can expect and what are expected of them.

 

Being able to experience or looking into the probable experiences of different people is one aspect of expansion of consciousness that is most compelling to me.  Getting out of your own subjective experience as an entity or your own bubble to include others' (subjective experiences) is the ultimate kind of experience to me.

 

As your ego/mind recedes into the background you will be more inclined to immerse yourself in this study of our civilizations/humanity.  And then we will see the meaningfulness and meaninglessness of it all.

 

Of how devoid of anyone's control everything that's happening around us is at the very center of it.  Nobody is behind it. Nobody has that much power over anybody else no matter what we'd like to believe.

 

It's a natural interconnected continuous process unfolding, moment to moment, year to year, decade to decade, century to century, millennium to millennium.... 

 

Can you see what I see?
