I want to wish you the happiest of holidays. I’ve experienced a lot of joy in this crazy year of 2020, and for that, I owe you a big thank you. You have taught me to "accept what is.” This helped me to be happy during lockdowns. This helped me cope when my beautiful and beloved cat was diagnosed with cancer. It was my privilege to care for her in the final weeks of her life, and I was and am filled with gratitude for the years she and I spent together. I am in awe of the enormous love I
felt for her.
My EUM was the namesake of your satsang entitled “Sometimes A Guy Is Just A Project Not Worth Losing Your Sleep Over.” I didn’t ditch him, but I did ditch losing sleep over him! And he’s still here. :) I found you because of him, and nearly two years later, he and I are still together. The issues we were having went away, and then we had new issues, and then those issues resolved as well. Later on, there will be new problems. It really goes to show that wanting to move on to
the next phase in a relationship is the wrong way to go about it! Every phase has its good and bad aspects, and the emotions are temporary.
He still says we are “casually dating.” Sometimes he admits that we’re “a bit more than casual.” We kind of have to laugh about it. He may never "claim" me, but I’m really enjoying what we’ve got. I feel like the luckiest girl in the world. I can’t even believe the things he does for me, and all the big and little ways he keeps showing that he cares. And frankly, you’re right when you say that those of us who choose to date EUM’s are EUM ourselves! I love the space he gives me when he
needs space!!! But this is also because I’ve found my life’s passion, which is why I believe I was placed here on this earth, and I cannot let my life and my thoughts be consumed by a man or by man-troubles.
Otherwise, I’ll never get around to making my art! So, thank you, Katarina, for teaching me about the workings of the mind, and how to put my ego in its place so I can have a clear head and a feeling of calm that allows me to focus on accomplishing my goals. I’ve accomplished a lot this year, and am really feeling good about where that will take me next!
I don’t have an endgame with my EUM, but rather I am trying to always stay in a state of appreciation for him. He says that, in his experience, when a woman gets comfortable in a relationship, she starts to criticize and makes the relationship feel like work. I look back on my own behavior in past relationships, and I know I’ve fallen into that same pattern. Thank you for making me aware of it, because I don’t want to be that nagging woman any more than a man wants to be on the
receiving end of the nagging! You have made my life better. And you have made my EUM's better, too, by helping me to have the awareness to be a better partner.
I do believe you are making the world a better place by improving the awareness of the individual and allowing it to spread. I even see how I am better able to communicate with male coworkers, thanks to putting your teachings into practice.
